Jesus is Lord

Here is what will happen in our lives after being saved and some scriptures to read about them. The Bible says to be saved and Baptized.

1. You will be given a new heart. “I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you.” Ezekiel 11:19.

2. You will be given a new mind. “Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:2, first part.

3. You will have different interest. “They that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.” Romans 8:5.

4. The law is written in their hearts. “I will put my laws into their minds, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people.” Hebrews 8:10, last part.

5. We will have love for fellowmen. “We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren.” 1st John 3:14, first part.

This is how we can maintain our spiritual life as a believer.

Read John 15:4-6:  4.  Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

5. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

6. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned

The person who is born again enters into a personal relationship or union with Christ. The power of God is his and he bears the fruit of love to God’s glory.

            James Chapter 1: 1-27

1. James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

2. Count it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into divers temptations; We can look in Matthew 5:12 and see that it tells us: 12: Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad: for great is your reward in Heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.(so we find here that even as the prophets of old were persecuted for His Names Sake, so also should we rejoice knowing that we are persecuted for our Lord. (The Name above All Names)

3. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience

4. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing

5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

We can now turn to Mark 11:24 and find it will tell us how we should pray. This is not telling us we should not ask what we may want of our Lord but that we should ask in The Will of God.

Mark11:24 tells us: 24. Therefore I say unto you, all things whatsoever ye pray and ask for, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

We can also look at Luke 11:9 and see what it is telling us: 9. And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

6. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. (When we waver in our faith we are not keeping our Lord in the center of our faith. We get out of focus with Christ and therefore cannot keep Him and the Cross as the center part of our lives. (we must always keep the Cross as the object of our faith and Christ as the source.)

7. For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord; (Again this verse is telling us that when we waver and do not ask in faith and believing in Christ for our needs then we should not expect anything from Him.)

8. A double minded man, unstable in all his ways. (A double minded man is someone who when he asks something from Christ he asks in unbelief, therefore if we are to expect anything from Christ we must always ask believing He is going to grant us our prayers if they be in the will of God. (We must always keep the Cross and Christ in the center of our lives.)

9. Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:

10. But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

11. For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

12. Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.  (If we live according to Gods will and resist the temptations put before us we will receive the promise of the Crown of Life (Gods promises are true for God cannot lie.)

13. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:  (God cannot be tempted and He will in no way temp man. He gives all a free will and we can live our lives anyway we want. We can live for the Lord and except our Crown of Live He has promised or we can live in the ways of the world and except Hell’s Fire as our reward, it is our choice but Christ does not any to perish but that we should all have life and have it more abundantly.)

14. But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.  (We can be enticed and let Satan pull us away from Christ which is Satan’s plan so that he can reward us with Hell’s Fire eternally or we can choose Christ as our Savior and except eternal life in Heaven with Him, the choice is ours.)

15. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.  (When we let lust and sin take over our souls I believe we then begin to lose our Salvation) and as we know the wages of sin is death.)

16. Do not err, my beloved brethren. (This means we should not be deceived by false doctrine. If we read and not only read our Bibles but study them we will become very aware of our surroundings and what is being said and know when we are not hearing the true gospel of Christ. If we do not study the word how can we know? Reading is not enough.)

17. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.  (There is nothing good that is offered on this earth except what the Lord Jesus has given us. We are to value nothing material on this earth, but we are to exalt the Lord in everything. All good come from the Father.

18. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.  (If we turn our Bibles to John 1:13 we read:  13. Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

19. Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

20. For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

21. Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.  (We find in Colossians 3:8 where it says: 8. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. (By turning from all of these we please God) we can please God by doing the things He wills and obeying His commandments.

22. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.  (so many times we find people going to church Sunday mornings and listening to the preacher preach the word of God and some even make it a point to tell him what a great job he has done. Then before they get to their cars they forget what he even preached on, I refer to these people as Sunday morning Christians. We must serve the Lord at all times not just for an hour or so on Sunday mornings.

23. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:  (If we turn our Bibles to Luke 6:47 we see that it says: 47. Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will show you to whom he is like:(We can ask ourselves What are we like? Are we Christian Like? We should be in all we say and do. We should act like Gods people in everything we do and say. We need to let His light shine through us.

24. For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.  (If we try to look at self instead of Jesus Christ and what He did on the Cross for each one of us then we forget all to soon what He did and why. We must always stay focused on the Cross and Christ and never on ourselves or things of this world; we need but to stay in the will of God.

25. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.  God’s law is not a yoke of bondage; it is called the law of liberty; if we then obey God’s commands He sets us free therefore we have liberty in the laws of God. Look in Corinthians 3:18 and read: 18. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. (The Spirit of the Lord sets us free)

26. If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.  (This verse is referring to backbiting, gossip, putting one another down which we know is wrong and should never be. His greatest commandment to us was to love one another. He even tells us if we can’t love one another that we have seen then how can we love Him that we have not seen. We have probably all said things that we wish we could take back so with that being said I think if we can’t exalt someone to Christ then we should not say anything at all that would be demeaning to someone.

27. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.  (If we look in Romans 12:2 we see that it tells us: 2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

In closing I would like to say that I love the Lord with all my heart. I can not say that I think the Lord has called me to do anything in particular except to serve Him in what ever He may ask of me. I want to serve the one who died and shed His blood for me and all like me that we should not perish but have everlasting life with Him. As I have said I love the Lord and my only regret is that I had not turned my life over to Him sooner for I may have been able to do more for Him but I have done His bidding since giving my self to Him in 2001.

If all the thoughts we ever thought

Were thrown upon a screen

If all the deeds we ever did

By all the world were seen

If some loud speaker should blare forth

All words we ever said

I think we’d hang our heads in shame

And wish that we were dead

From others we can hide some things

We’ve thought and said and done

But cannot hide them from the Lord

He knows them every one
